Yamila Nelson is a licensed CPA (Certified Public Accountant) and a CGMA (Chartered Global Management Accountant) in the State of Florida. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in accounting from Florida International University and a Master of Accounting degree from St. Thomas University, with a specialization in taxation and a minor in fraud forensics.
After working eleven years for a prestigious CPA firm in Miami, Yamila launched her own independent accounting firm in October 2005. Since then, Nelson & Associates has become one of Miami’s leading CPA firms, with a network of professionals, businesses and international clients.
With over 20 years of experience in tax consultation, accounting and auditing, she has served as an advisor and business consultant to various multinational companies throughout the United States, Europe and Latin America. Her client portfolio includes attorneys, corporations and governmental agencies in need of expertise in domestic and international taxation, financial reporting and business consultation.
She has also served as a consultant and expert witness for federal courts in cases involving fraud, corruption, money laundering and tax evasion.
